inputnoise - halfway/stories

When preparing to move to Tokyo back in 2011 I had an idea that would combine many of my likes into one amazing thing, and that was an concept album that combined the sounds and images conjured by someone living in northern Sweden and then moving and spending a year in Tokyo.

When I finally arrived in Tokyo I was without an instrument for atleast 2 months before I decided to get myself a brand spanking new Telecaster, and it was all lining up to be the best thing ever, atleast I thought and hoped so...

I hade all the time in the world I felt, but when you live in one of the busiest cities in the world and to top it all off, you are also in your early twenties I couldn't get myself to stay indoors, like ever...

Every chance I had I was out just walking the streets of Tokyo with my new camera and with this new tool in my hands I stayed out late every single day and enjoyed every second of it!

Though I had just gotten a new external HDD it was filling up fast and I had to get to the meat and potatoes of the operation, the mission was to combine some moving images to the 2 songs I had written before flying to Tokyo, and the plan was to write more while I was staying there. Needless to say that didn't exactly pan out the way I planned, and even when I wanted to write music my neighbor just banged on the wall for the slightest noise so I kinda had to give up on that idea.

But I still wanted something to go with the previously written songs and so I spent 2 days filming in seemingly random locations with some vague image in my head. After the 2 days I looked at the footage, tried to organize it, started a project and did some rough cut but after that left the files on the harddrive never to return to them.

Despite all this I still recorded 2 songs that I still to this day think are pretty decent considering the equipment I recorded on and with.

During the last month in Tokyo I worked on some art for the double single which I then decided to call Halfway/Stories which is up on my soundcloud.
